NORTHAMPTON - Northampton, MA – January 19, 2025 – As temperatures are forecasted to drop significantly over the next few days, the City of Northampton is announcing the availability of warming shelters for individuals needing a safe, warm space.

The warming shelters will be available for three days: Monday, January 20, Tuesday, January 21, and Wednesday, January 23, 2025, with varying hours of operation. The City encourages residents and visitors experiencing homelessness or needing a safe place to stay during extreme cold weather to take advantage of these facilities.

Each location will provide a safe and warm environment, as well as access to basic services and support. For more information on the warming shelter services, please contact the Northampton Department of Human Services at (413) 587-1215.

Additionally, the City urges residents to check on neighbors who may be vulnerable during the cold weather and to report anyone in need of assistance to local authorities or outreach teams.
