Text Box: For Immediate Release - September 23, 2025 Department of Health and Human Services Celebrates the Two-Year Anniversary of the Division of Community Care NORTHAMPTON - The Northampton Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is honored to invite the community to celebrate the two-year anniversary of the Division of Community Care (DCC), the city’s groundbreaking, public health–led public safety initiative. The two-year anniversary celebration is being held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the DCC Community Space at 1 Roundhouse Plaza.  Since its launch, the DCC has provided compassionate, non-clinical crisis support and unarmed mobile response for all Northampton residents. The division works every day to bridge gaps in care, ensure that individuals in need are met with dignity and respect, and connect people to both immediate and long-term resources.  This celebration is not only a milestone for the DCC, but also a moment to reflect on what we’ve accomplished together as a community. We invite you to join us in honoring the partnerships, stories, and progress that continue to shape this unique model of care. Attendees will hear from DHHS leadership, Mayor Gina-Louise Sciarra, Police Chief John Cartledge, state legislators, local business owners, and our partners from the UMass School of Public Health and Health Sciences. Together, they will share insights on the DCC’s impact over the past two years, lessons learned, and the program’s future directions in supporting our community. The event will feature powerful stories, community data, an open house tour of the DCC space, interactive activities, food, and refreshments. Local organizations and community partners will also be on-site tabling throughout the day.
